Wednesday, October 28,2015: Networking event with persimmon producer of Ono Town for international students

International students of Gifu University did inspection of persimmon sorting and harvest of persimmon.They also enjoyed making pound cake of persimmon. They could learn a lot of things about persimmon from persimmon producer of Ono Town.

Saturday, October 17,2015: Mountaineering Mt.Kinka

International students of Gifu Univerisity climbed Mt.Kinka with OB of Gifu city's youth organization. On their way to the top of the mountain, they picked up the trash and enjoyed climbing.

August 31(Monday)and September 1(Tuesday),2015: Study Tour for International Students

International students of Gifu Universiy went to Nagano Prefecture and Gifu Prefecture(Nakatsugawa city)as a study tour. They experienced Tenryu boat tour, Hyakusougan factory tour, strolling of Magome and visited Science World.

Friday, April 17, 2015: Welcome Party at International House

A welcome party for new residents of Gifu University International House A & B from April was held in the International House. About 40 International students participated in this party and enjoyed taking pictures, having meals, and playing musical chairs. It became the start of a fun study abroad life for new residents.

Thursday, February 19 & Friday, February 20, 2015: Gifu University 2014 Ski School for International Students

Gifu University 24 international students went to Meiho Ski Resort in Gujo city, Gifu for ski school. Under the guidance of instructors, some participants who skied for the first time were able to ski on the second day. They could deepen exchanges through this ski school and enjoyed winter nature in Japan.

Sunday, December 7, 2014: Mochi Pounding and New Year in Japan

Japanese traditional Mochi pounding (Mochitsuki) event hosted by Kokusai Kouryu no Wa ∞ Kurono was held in front of Gifu University International House. 32 international students joined this event and had a pleasant experience by pounding Mochi, tasting Mochi, and making Mochi flower (Hanamochi). Students who experienced Mochi pounding for the first time enjoyed this event very much.

Saturday, November 29, 2014: Wadaiko Concert & Wadaiko Experience

International cultural exchange event "Wadaiko (Japanese drum) Concert & Wadaiko Experience" hosted by Soroptimist International Gifu was held at Gifu Sogo Gakuen High School, Gifu. 25 international students appreciated powerful Wadaiko performance by high school students and learned how to play a drum. All the participants enjoyed talking and playing a game together.

Saturday, October 18, 2014: Mt. Kinka Climbing

35 international students together with the member of Gifu City Seinendan OB group went mountain climbing with cleaning the mountain trail of Mt. Kinka. They visited Gifu Castle and had a meal at the top of Mt. Kinka. It was a nice weather and everyone had fun climbing mountain.

Thursday, September 18, 2014: Pottery Making Experience

International students got invited to "Experience Japanese Tradition and Culture in Gifu" hosted by Gifu Minami Lions Club and 11 international students went to Toki City known as a pottery town, visited climbing kiln, and experienced pottery making. Most of them experienced potter's wheel for the first time and made good ceramic works on a wheel.

Tuesday, August 26 & Wednesday, August 27, 2014: International Student Summer Trip 2014

Gifu University 50 international students went on the summer trip to Awaji Island in Hyogo. They enjoyed excursion cruises, whirlpool tours, kamaboko making, and appreciation of famous paintings. The sea is just in front of the hotel and they could watch the sunrise in that sea early in the morning.

Friday, June 27, 2014: Ukai on the Nagara River

Ukai (Cormorant Fishing) on the Nagara River hosted by Soroptimist International Gifu was held on the night of Friday, June 27. 18 international students participated in this event and they deepened exchanges through watching the Cormorant Fishing from Ukai viewing boat, having dinner, and introducing their countries.

Sunday, April 6, 2014: Cherry Blossom Viewing Party

Cherry Blossom Viewing Party hosted by the volunteer group of Kokusai Kouryu no Wa ∞ Kurono was held on Sunday, April 6 at Kurono Castle Park. 46 international students and local residents of Kurono had a great time by playing sports and games with delicious foods under cherry blossoms in full bloom.

Thursday, February 20 & Friday, February 21, 2014: Gifu University 2013 Ski School for International Students

Gifu University international students went to Meiho Ski Resort in Gujo city, Gifu for ski school this time. This ski school is conducted for the purpose of strengthening mutual exchange among international students, and having a contact with winter nature and sports culture through ski skills acquisition and camp. 21 international students participated in this ski school and that turned out to be a valuable experience for them.

Gifu University international students went on the summer trip to Ishikawa & Fukui prefecture this time. They visited Japanese historical and Japanese attraction through culture experiences.

Sunday, December 9, 2012: The 18th Mochi Pounding Event

Japanese traditional Mochi pounding event hosted by Kokusai Kouryu no Wa ∞ Kurono was held on Sunday, December 9 in front of Gifu University International House, Building A. About 64 international students and local residents of Kurono participated in this event and participants have enjoyed Mochi pounding and Mochi flower (Hanamochi) making.

Saturday, December 8, 2012: Exchange event with Soroptimist International Gifu

International cultural exchange event hosted by Soroptimist International Gifu was held on Saturday, December 8 at Hotel Grand Vert Gizan, Gifu. About 15 international students of Gifu University, Japanese students from Gifu Shotoku Gakuen University & Gifu Shotoku Gakuen Junior College and members of Soroptimist International Gifu participated in this event. Our international students wore their beautiful national costumes and share thier traditions and cultures during the event. All the participants were also able to see and learn Japanese traditional culture, dance and music as well.

*Soroptimist is an international women's volunteer organization and organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.

Thursday, August 30 & Friday, August 31, 2012: International Student Summer Trip 2012

Gifu University international students went on the summer trip to Wakayama Prefecture on August 30 and 31, 2012. 44 international students participated in this trip and visited various tourist attractions including Mt. Koya, which was registered as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.
