Gifu Chan: "Professor Takagi, parents and children learn how to prevent and mitigate natural disasters together"

Professor Takagi visits some disaster-hit areas and the facility where citizens can study natural disasters. By using easy-to-understand words and expressions, Professor Takagi highlights the importance of disaster prevention and mitigation for parents and children living in Gifu Prefecture. He also explains why it is so crucial to protect ourselves in case of emergencies.

The theme of the 2nd episode is "Earthquakes and Damages."

This year marks 130 year anniversary since the Great Nobi Earthquake happened in 1891. In addition, more than 70 years have passed since the Nankai Earthquake that took place in 1946 with the Nankai or Southern Sea Trough* as an epicenter. We must continue to stay vigilant against another devastating earthquake anytime soon. Under instructions of Professor Takagi, TV host, Chiyo Kokusho and two pairs of parent and child (the Okuda and the Wada) learn how to prepare for major earthquakes and proper safety measures by sharing their experiences and answering short questions.
