Accepting Second Application for Emergency Student Support Handout for Continuing Studies Started

The Emergency Student Support Handout for Continuing Studies by the Japan Student Support Organization (JASSO) is a cash payout scheme for students who are in difficult financial situations by significant reduction of their family budgets and part-time work income due to the spread of COVID-19.
Gifu University examines application forms submitted by students and send them to JASSO on their behalf. Please carefully read the Emergency Student Support Handout for Continuing Studies: Application Guide (for Students) (hereinafter called, "the Guide"), prepare all necessary documents for your application.

1. Eligible Students

Please refer to Page 5 of the Guide for eligibilities. (Please also refer to "Flow Chart for Application.")
*Students who already received the payouts at the first application are not eligible for applications this time.

2. Amount to be Paid

Students from Resident Tax Exempt Household - 200,000 yen
Other students - 100,000 yen

3. Application Method

Applicant must both a) submit application form by post, and b) complete online application form by the respective deadlines. Applications are NOT accepted if both are not completed.
a) Submit documents by post → must be arrived on Sunday, July 19, 2020 (by 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2020 if brought in person)
b) Complete and send online application form → by midnight, on Sunday, July 19, 2020.
*Please access AIMS-Gifu for the Handout application (access to AIMS-Gifu → click "Student Support" → "Application Forms" (please refer to English translation) → "Change of Address" → "Application for Emergency Student Support Handout for Continuing Studies" Refer to "Application Procedure"
*Application Form is available from 9:00a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
*No LINE application is accepted. 

4. Place to Submission, Send by Post

Please submit application forms to the Student Support Division, Student Affairs Department during office hours (weekdays: 10:00a.m.- 5:00p.m.)
(By post) Please send to:Student Support Division, Student Affairs Department, Gifu University 1-1 Yanagido, Gifu City, Gifu 501-1193 Japan Please write on the front of an envelope「学びの継続申請」in red and send by registered mail.

5. Documents to be submitted

1. FORM 1 "Application for Emergency Student Support Handout"
2. FORM 2 "Oath Concerning Requirements to Receive the Emergency Student Support Handout"
3. Attached documents (Please confirm at Document Submission List.)

6. Results of First Application and Payouts

If payouts are finalized, JASSO transfers the payouts to individual bank accounts (bank transfer begins from early July), but no transfer notifications are sent to each recipient. Gifu University informs students by email of the JASSO's decisions of his/her ineligibility for receiving payouts at the first application.

7. Results of Second Application and Payouts

If payouts are finalized, JASSO transfers the payouts to individual bank accounts (bank transfer begins in August), but no transfer notifications are sent to each recipient. Gifu University informs students by email of the JASSO's decision of his/her ineligibility for receiving payouts at the second application.
