Wellness Day event held
On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the Health Administration Center, in collaboration with the Student Committee of the University Co-op, held a Wellness Day event. This event was conducted with the support of the "Connected by the Power of Nutrition Project," an initiative led by the Japan Nutrition Practical Science Strategy Organization, which works together with companies and organizations, as well as registered dietitians and nutritionists, to address nutrition-related challenges both in Japan and around the world.
Now in its fourth year, the event featured the free distribution of more than 600 kiwifruits provided by sponsoring companies, along with health promotion materials produced and published by the Japan Nutrition Practice Science Strategy Organization. In addition, 286 participants attended a Nutrition Seminar conducted by registered dietitians. With the cooperation of the Gifu City Public Health Center, 89 participants also experienced a dietary balance assessment using the Shokuiku SAT System. This system calculates nutritional values simply by placing selected food models on a sensor, providing participants with an opportunity to reflect on and evaluate their own eating habits.
Furthermore, 16 participants joined a hands-on yoga session entitled "Easy Yoga You Can Do Anywhere: Using a Wall," led by a yoga instructor. The session introduced simple exercises that can be easily incorporated into everyday life.
The event attracted not only students but also a large number of faculty and staff members, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the day. Participants commented that it was an excellent opportunity to deepen their understanding of health and nutrition, and the event concluded with great success and positive feedback.
Through this event, we hope that participants have gained greater interest in and understanding of nutrition and health, and that what they learned will contribute to healthier eating habits and overall well-being in their daily lives.
The Health Administration Center and the Student Committee of the University Co-op have also opened a Wellness Room in front of the University Co-op Central Store. Under the concept of "Making health more accessible and approachable for everyone," the Wellness Room offers body composition measurements and displays a variety of educational materials related to health. We will continue to support all members of Gifu University in maintaining their health and enjoying a better quality of life.
