Regarding Smoke Emission at Gifu University (Apology)

At approximately 3:46 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, smoke was observed coming from a plastic container located outside the General Research Building II at Gifu University. The fire department was notified immediately, and a safety inspection conducted by the fire authorities was completed at 5:00 p.m. Fortunately, there were no injuries resulting from this incident. We sincerely apologize to local residents and all concerned parties for the significant inconvenience and concern caused. Based on the findings regarding the cause of this incident, Gifu University will make every effort to prevent recurrence and to further strengthen safety management.
