Lecture by Vice President KOIZUMI Amane of the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology

On March 12, 2026, Gifu University held a lecture featuring Vice President KOIZUMI Amane of the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology as the guest speaker. The lecture was attended by department heads, as well as specially appointed faculty members, University Research Administrators (URAs), and coordinators of the Academic Research and Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration.

Vice President Koizumi delivered a lecture entitled "New Relationship Between Universities and Society from the Perspective of the 4th Generation University (4GU)." He presented the concept of 4GU as a framework for universities to proactively redesign their relationship with society and discussed new approaches for Gifu University to engage with society in innovative ways.

During the subsequent question-and-answer session, participants engaged in frank discussions and information sharing on topics such as the challenges and future prospects of 4GU, strengthening research capabilities, and the future direction of industry-academia-government collaboration. The lecture proved to be a highly valuable opportunity for all attendees.
