GU Hosts The 16th Gifu COC+ Project Promotion Consortium Operational Meeting

Gifu University hosted the 16th Gifu COC+ Project Promotion Consortium Operational Meeting on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

The consortium was established to promote the regional revitalization initiative titled "Make a Big Step in Gifu × Bring a Plus to Gifu: Joint Development of Region-Oriented Business Leaders." Gifu University plays a leading role in implementing this initiative. Together, the consortium members carry out a wide range of regional revitalization activities aimed at fostering a vibrant, prosperous community and achieving sustainable growth by encouraging young people to settle in Gifu Prefecture.

Consortium members include: Gifu University; Chubu Gakuin University (Gifu Prefecture); Chubu University (Aichi Prefecture); Nihon Fukushi University (Aichi Prefecture); Nagoya Gakuin University (Aichi Prefecture); the Gifu Prefectural Government; the Gifu Employers' Association; The Juroku Bank, Ltd.; Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank; Mynavi Corporation; the Gifu Prefecture Mayors Association; the Gifuken Chousonkai (Association of Towns and Villages); the Gifuken Internship Conference; and Gifu Kyoritsu University (Gifu Prefecture).

The meeting was attended by the presidents of member universities and representatives of member organizations. Participants reviewed and evaluated the consortium's FY2024 activities. The main points of the review were as follows: While the substantial content of the educational programs and the strong collaboration among institutions were highly evaluated, it was noted that student participation in internships and corporate exhibitions offered by local companies remains low. In addition, in light of recent social changes, participants proposed setting quantitative targets and revising the evaluation criteria.

Finally, all members agreed to extend the consortium's term until March 31, 2027.

The Gifu COC+ Project Promotion Consortium remains committed to strengthening partnerships among member universities and organizations to ensure sustainable and far-reaching implementation of COC+ initiatives that contribute to the community's continued growth.
