Donation Ceremony for "OKB Regional Support Private Placement Bonds (Hakushu Kassai)- Community Contribution Type" Held at Gifu University
On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, a donation ceremony for the "OKB Regional Support Private Placement Bonds (Hakushu Kassai)- Community Contribution Type" hosted by Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank, was held at OKB Gifu University Plaza, "OKB SCLAMB" at Gifu University. The event also included an exchange session with members of the Gifu University Startup Club.
The "OKB Regional Support Private Placement Bonds (Hakushu Kassai) - Community Contribution Type" is a program in which 0.2% of the bond issuance amount underwritten by Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank is donated in the form of goods or funds to local schools, public institutions, and medical facilities. Since August 2024, Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank has been accepting applications for bonds that designate Gifu University as the donation recipient. This time, three companies - Firbest Co., Ltd., Hashimakaryu Co., Ltd., and Toyamakogyo Co., Ltd. - issued bonds, and this marked the second round of donations to Gifu University.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. GOTO Katsutoshi (Executive Managing Director), Mr. KAMEI Atsushi (General Manager of Corporate Sales Department), and Mr. MAKITA Naoki (Manager of Hashima Branch) from Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank, along with representatives from two of the issuing companies. From Gifu University, Vice President OYABU Chiho, Professor UEHARA Masayuki (advisor to the Startup Club), and members of the club participated.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Goto praised the Startup Club for its efforts to foster entrepreneurial spirit, revitalize the regional economy, create new businesses, and bring innovative ideas to life. He stated, "The Startup Club at Gifu University is doing remarkable work. Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank will continue to support regional development through initiatives like OKB SCLAMB, which serves as a hub for open innovation." A donation certificate was then presented.
Following this, representatives from the issuing companies introduced their businesses and shared their connections with Gifu University. Vice President Oyabu expressed her gratitude to the representatives of three companies, saying, "As a core university in the region, Gifu University values innovation, education, research, and co-creation. We will continue to contribute to the community."
After the ceremony, participants were introduced to the activities of OKB SCLAMB and the Startup Club. Students from the club presented their business ideas, with two students showcasing promising concepts that received high praise from attendees. The event concluded with a commemorative group photo taken in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
