Regarding the Mistaken Delivery of Diplomas and Transcripts to Graduates of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences

An incident occurred where diplomas and transcripts were mistakenly sent to the wrong graduates who were absent from the degree awarding ceremony for the academic year 2024.

Gifu University has a system in place where diplomas and transcripts are, upon their request, sent to graduates who are not able to attend the awarding ceremony. After receiving a report from a graduate that the contents were for another graduate, we confirmed four mistaken deliveries. We promptly retrieved the documents, but two of them had already been opened by the graduates. The cause of this incident was due to insufficient verification during the packaging process. We apologized to all four graduates and already sent the correct diplomas and transcripts to them.

We take this incident very seriously and deeply apologize to the graduates and their parents. To prevent such incidents from occurring in the future, we will ensure strict administrative procedures when handling important documents and strive to prevent recurrence.
