Since 2014, Gifu University has been conducting the "Valor V-Drug Overseas Study Scholarship Project" thanks to donations from Valor Holdings and Chubu Yakuhin Co., Ltd. This scholarship aims to support graduate students at Gifu University in obtaining credits at overseas universities and research institutions, as well as conducting specialized research.

On Friday, March 7, 2025, a report meeting was held at the Valor Holdings Human Resource Development Center, Donyousha,' by two students who were dispatched under this scholarship: Ms. BAMBA Rie, a third-year student of the Graduate School of Engineering, and Ms. NAGASAKI Yayoi, a first-year student at the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology.

Ms. Bamba studied at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India for approximately 11 months, under the theme, "Development of WAAM Technique Using Robotic Arm in Corroded and Thinned Area of Steel Structures." Her research is centered on the development of repair methods that can minimize welding defects by utilizing metal 3D printing technology.

Ms. Nagasaki studied at Massey University in New Zealand for approximately three months, conducting research under the theme, "Controlling the Palatability of Edible Insects by Food Processing." She has established an experimental system to evaluate the palatability of cricket powder, including protein content measurement and simulated digestion tests.

Both students reported on their cross-cultural experiences during their study abroad and the importance of the scholarship. They expressed their gratitude to Mr. TASHIRO Masami, President and CEO of Valor Holdings, for the significant support the scholarship provided in allowing them to focus on their studies.

The Gifu University Fund will continue to support various challenges faced by students in the future.
