Industry Research Seminar Planned and Organized by GU Students

On Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15, 2024, we held the 23rd Gifu University student corporate exhibition 'Industry Research Seminar.' This exhibition is held annually and is the largest on-campus corporate exhibition, planned and organized by a university-recognized executive committee mainly composed of third-year undergraduate student volunteers.

Approximately 160 companies exhibited at this event, and about 500 students, mainly third-year undergraduates and first-year master's students who are engaging in job hunting, participated. Participating students shared their impressions, saying, "It was a very fruitful experience to be able to talk directly with various company representatives," and "I discovered companies I didn't know about."

On Wednesday, February 5, Mr. NISHIUCHI Tomoya, a third-year student in the Faculty of Engineering, the executive committee chairman, along with vice-chairmen Mr. KURIKI Yuuwa and Mr. SEO Naoki, both from the Faculty of Engineering, reported the event's outcome to President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro at the Office of the President. Mr. Nishiuchi expressed his sense of accomplishment in successfully holding the event with the cooperation of various stakeholders, despite bearing significant responsibilities such as coordinating with exhibiting companies and contracted firms and engaging in discussions with the seven-member executive committee. He also reported that this year's promotional activities, such as placing triangular Point of Purchase (POP) displays in the cafeteria, increased student participation by catching the attention of many students.

President Yoshida commended the students for successfully organizing such a large-scale event through their voluntary efforts. He also encouraged them to pass on the know-how and challenges they gained this time to their juniors, to create further innovations and strategies, and to develop next year's corporate exhibition even further.

Gifu University will continue to support students' voluntary activities and further assist in their job-hunting efforts.
