Gifu University Booth Exhibition at "Kasamatsu Town Riverside Carnival 2024"

Gifu University set up a booth at "Kasamatsu Town Riverside Carnival 2024" on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Kasamatsu Town, Gifu Prefecture, and Gifu University concluded a comprehensive partnership in April 2017. Under this partnership, GU was invited to open a booth at the carnival.

This event, organized by the Kasamatsu Town Development Event Executive Committee, is held annually to promote community-driven town development utilizing the Kiso River's riverbed. In addition to local businesses and civic groups exhibiting, this year also featured the "CasaMarche Halloween Party" organized by the Kasamatsu Town Promotion Association.

At the GU booth, posters introducing activities of the Center for Collaborative Study with Community (CCSC) at Gifu University were on display. GU staff distributed university pamphlets, handout about "Fostering Next-Generation Regional Leaders" programs of CCSC, and "Chiikishikougaku (region-centered) Study Vol.8" issued by the CCSC to visitors. Visitors were welcome to join a paper crafting workshop held at the booth. Many children and parents enjoyed creating various polyhedral forms by assembling strips of paper and making personalized fans with the help of GU staff. Over 100 people visited the booth, deepening their understanding of the university and the CCSC's initiatives. For children and their parents, it was an enjoyable opportunity to interact with the university through these experiences.

The CCSC will continue to strengthen its collaboration with local municipalities, actively promoting the setting up of university booths and community-focused outreach activities.
