Gifu University Received a Research and Education Grant on Renewable Energy from the International Club.
On Monday, August 26, 2024, a donation list was presented by Ms. Rumi Aoyama, Executive Board Member of International Club (Hashima City, Gifu Prefecture) to Professor UEMATSU Yoshihiko, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Gifu University.
The club has provided various forms of support, including assistance for international students. Following last year, we received a grant for research and educational activities related to renewable energy this year.
In April 2018, Gifu University established the 'Gifu Renewable Energy System Research Center (G-RESRC)' to advance research on innovative core technologies for the use of renewable energy. It aims to develop an optimal energy management system by combining hydrogen technology with AI and other technologies. The support from the club will further promote these activities, contribute to the training of the next generation of researchers and engineers, and play a significant role in solving global energy problems.
At the presentation ceremony, Ms. Aoyama stated, "Please use the donation to make Gifu University a central hub for regional revitalization that produces talent capable of leading society and creating the future and contributes to solving regional and human challenges." Professor Uematsu expressed his gratitude, saying, "We will strive to achieve further results in both research and education, and do our utmost to contribute to regional revitalization and the resolution of global energy issues."
During the discussion following the presentation ceremony, Mr. AOYAMA Kaoru, Honorary Chairman of the club, Ms. Aoyama, and other members of the club exchanged views with university representatives on their expectations for Gifu University's endeavors for tackling energy problems and the importance of utilizing renewable energy.
Gifu University will continue to advance renewable energy research and activities aimed at solving global energy problems.
