Gifu University Fund 'Valor and V Drug Overseas Training Scholarship' Report Session

Since 2014, Gifu University has been providing students with the Gifu University Fund, called the 'Valor and V Drug Overseas Training Scholarship,' thanks to the generous donations from Valor Holdings and CHUBU YAKUHIN CO, LTD. The purpose of the scholarship is to help graduate students take courses for credits and engage in research activities at universities or institutions overseas.

On Monday, March 11, 2024, Ms. KIKUNAGA Ouka, a first-year student of the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, reported her study abroad experiences at Donyoushya, a human resource development center at Valor Holdings. Ms. Kikunaga was chosen to receive the scholarship and studied at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU, Republic of Lithuania) from September 12 to October 11, 2023. Gifu University and VMU concluded the student and faculty of exchange agreement in January 2012.

In the meeting with Mr. Tashiro, President and CEO of Valor Holdings, Ms. Kikunaga reported her study at VMU including experimentations of her research theme, 'Possibility of controlling bioavailability by modifying cell wall polysaccharides', as well as her experiences of life in Lithuania.

Mr. Tashiro asked her about the new insights she has gained during her stay and study in Lithuania, the differences between Gifu University and VMU. Ms. Kikunaga provided answers to his questions while reflecting on her days in Lithuania.

We continue to support GU students' various academic and research activities through the utilization of the Gifu University Fund.
