The 13th Eco-Friendly Campaign Poster Award Ceremony

Gifu University (GU) hosted a "Let's think about SDGs1 - Eco-Friendly Campaign Poster" competition for the students at Gifu University Faculty of Education Affiliated Compulsory School System (Elementary-Junior High).

GU and Juroku Bank, Ltd. concluded a "Memorandum of Understanding on Partnership for Environment Conservation between GU and Juroku Bank, Ltd." As part of the partnership activities and to raise people's awareness of environmental issues such as SDGs, energy conservation, environment beautification and waste reduction campaigns, GU sought students' applications for the "13th Eco-Friendly Campaign Poster" competition. In this year's competition, one "Highest Award," one "Excellent Award," and one "Juroku Financial Group Award" were announced.

On Thursday, December 14, 2023, an awarding ceremony was held at the Office of the President on campus. President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro handed out the award certificates to individual winners. They were also presented small gifts from Mr. SUGINO, Managing Executive Officer, Juroku Bank.

President Yoshida congratulated the winners and said, "Every poster is well-designed and very appealing. Please bear in mind the ambitions and dreams you illustrated on your poster and make them known to your juniors and people around you." Mr. Sugino also gave the following message to them, "Every work is easy to understand. I am looking forward to seeing your growth through your engagement in conservation activities." Lastly, Ms. MARUYAMA Sanae, Principal of Gifu University Faculty of Education Affiliated Compulsory School System commented, "Our students have been carefully observing nature with their own eyes and their interpretations of the environment are well reflected on their posters. I am grateful that students were given the opportunity to learn something autonomously and I hope that they will continue to learn things of their strong interests."

On behalf of the winners, Miss HAYASHI Rena, a 7th year student and the highest award winner, expressed her wish that every poster will enlighten people about the importance of nature and the environment.

While the posters were on display at the University Library, many people from on and off campus came to the library to see the posters. They will also be on display at Juroku Bank Kano Branch from Tuesday, January 9 through Friday, January 19, 2024, and at Juroku Bank Ginan Branch from Mondy, January 22 through Friday, February 2, 2024.

We hope that this poster competition will become an opportunity for people to think deeply about environment and engage in various forms of conservation activities in the future.
