On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, the notification ceremony for the recipients of Western Digital Scholarship Program was held at the Office of the President.

Gifu University offers various scholarships to students as part of Gifu University Fund student support programs. In 2022, "Western Digital Scholarship Program" was created with the support from Western Digital GK whose major purpose is to support and educate students who have some difficulties yet demonstrate outstanding academic performance and have a great personality. The fund helps them to build a career in the fields of mathematics and sciences.

On the day of the ceremony, President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro handed over the notification to the recipients and gave them a word of encouragement. He said, "I hope that the recipients understand the objectives of the program and study hard to lead a fulfilling life on campus."

Sr. Vice President HIGASHITANI Masaaki from Western Digital GK also made the following comment while referring to his company's mission: "Please enjoy your student life to the fullest."
