GU students won Semi Grand Prix at "University SDGs ACTION! AWARDS 2023"

Two Gifu University students (Mr. ITO Shion and Mr. SUGIMOTO Ryota (both are the second year students of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences)) won the Semi Grand Prix (Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. Award) at the "University SDGs ACTION! AWARDS 2023" (sponsored by The Asahi Shimbun) held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. University students presented their unique business plans and innovative ideas as to how to achieve SDGs1

Mr. Ito and Mr. Sugimoto made a presentation on the use of powders made from damaged bananas abandoned in the Philippines (presentation title: "Connect Japan and the Philippines with abandoned bananas to give solutions to socioeconomic problems").

1) The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all."
