The 12th Gifu COC+ Project Promotion Consortium Operation Meeting

Gifu University hosted the "12th Gifu COC+ Project Promotion Consortium Operation Meeting" on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Gifu University. The Consortium was established to promote the COC+ projects* called, "Make a big step in Gifu × Bring a plus to Gifu: joint development of a region-oriented business leader." Gifu University is playing a leading role in implementing these COC+ projects. Even after an official implementation period is over, consortium members are jointly promoting diverse regional revitalization activities to realize vibrant communities and sustainable growth by encouraging youths to settled down in Gifu Prefecture.

Members of the Consortium are: Gifu University, Chubu Gakuin University/Chubu Gakuin College (Gifu Prefecture), Chubu University (Aichi Prefecture), Nihon Fukushi University (Aichi Prefecture), Nagoya Gakuin University (Aichi Prefecture), Gifu Prefecture, Gifu Employer's Association, The Juroku Bank, Ltd., Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank, Mynavi Corporation (recruitment/ad agency), Japan Association of City Mayors, Gifuken chousonkai (association of towns/villages), Gifuken Internship Conference, Gifu Kyoritsu University (observer). The operation meeting is the highest decision-making body of the Consortium.

On November 25, the operation meeting was attended by presidents of member universities and representatives of organizations. They deliberated achievements for AY 2021. The following are the final assessments for AY 2021:

- General assessment: S (performing significantly better than an original plan)

- Educational activities: S (performing significantly better than an original plan)

- Quantitative goal achievement: A (performing better than an original plan)

Members agreed that despite the pandemic, joint programs and collaboration beyond the boundaries of universities have been actively carried out through strong partnership among member organizations. They also confirmed many positive outcomes from the COC+ projects and continued implementation for further success.

In addition, opinions were exchanged for COC+ projects for AY 2023 and lastly, members concluded an extension of Consortium's tenure by March 31, 2024.

Gifu COC+ Project Promotion Consortium stays committed to reinforcing partnership among member organizations for sustainable, extensive implementation of COC+ projects in the days to come.

*COC+ (Center of Community Program for Local Revitalization) projects: projects of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Their objectives include assembling people together to regions for revitalization by: - offering attractive job opportunities to students in collaboration with universities, local governments and businesses and, - supporting university's curriculum reform efforts necessary to cultivate personnel sought by regions.
