In addition, they discussed issues related to science and mathematics education which is jointly promoted with Gifu Prefecture, and aerospace technologies, one of the main focus of Tokai National Higher Education and Research System. They agreed to facilitate partnerships between Gifu University and academic institutions in the United States.

Gifu Universities concluded the university-level agreements with San Diego State University (in 1985), Northern Kentucky University (in 1990), Utah State University (in 1997), and the University of South Florida (in 2020).
