On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, Dr. Aurelijus Zykas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Ms. Kristina Mineikiené, Agricultural Attaché from Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania paid a courtesy visit to Gifu University.

The two met with Professor Shinji Kambara, Vice President (International Affairs, Information and (Deputy in Charge for) Evaluation) and Professor Tetsuya Mouri from the Faculty of Engineering, and shared their thoughts about exchange between Lithuania and Gifu University.

Starting from the visit of President Gitanas Nausėda of the Republic of Lithuania to Gifu University in 2019, they talked about the history of university-level partnership agreement between Gifu University and universities in Lithuania, status of exchange among students and faculties, and possibilities of future collaboration in the field of agriculture.

Gifu University concluded university-level agreement with Kaunas University of Technology in April 2010, and Vytautas Magnus University in January 2012. Since the conclusion of agreements, active exchange among students and faculties are continuing to date. We truly look forward to seeing our friendship with these two universities continue to thrive and forging a strong bond between Gifu and the Republic of Lithuania in the days to come.
