Gifu University Business Venture Certification Ceremony

On Thursday, March 24, 2022, Gifu University hosted "Gifu University Business Venture Certification Ceremony" for FiberCraze and Sagri Co., Ltd to certify them as business ventures born out of Gifu University.

Gifu University certifies business ventures which are born out of research achievements made at the University and provides smooth and effective support for these new business ventures.

The following are the summaries of line of business of FiberCraze and Sagri Co., Ltd: The state-of-the-art technology FiberCraze has developed is unique textile and film processing based on the precise control of defect phenomena. It can create countless nano-sized "pores" in materials, giving them a wealth of functions. Sagri Co., Ltd. conducts soil analysis using satellite data and artificial intelligence (AI) and addresses various agricultural challenges through automatic zoning technologies.

On March 24, four representatives from the respective companies were awarded the certificate from President Hisataka Moriwaki:

- Mr. Shunya Chosokabe, President of FiberCraze (2nd year student of Department of Materials Science and Procession, Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Gifu University)

- Professor Akiyoshi Takeno (Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science, Faculty of Engineering, Gifu University), CTO, FiberCraze

- Mr. Shunsuke Tsuboi, CEO, Sagri Co., Ltd, and

- Assistant Professor Takashi Tanaka (Plant Production, Course of Agricultural and Environmental Science, Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences, Gifu University), CTO, Sagri Co., Ltd

President Moriwaki expressed his strong hope for further growth of FiberCraze in collaboration with Professor Takeno who plays an important role in intellectual property-related matters and technological advancement in business ventures. He also stated that he is expecting Sagri Co., Ltd continues to collaborate with the University in making space industry one of crucial businesses in Gifu Prefecture. A total of eight business ventures born out of Gifu University are committing to returning their research achievements to local communities for their further prosperity in the future.
