The 11th Eco-Friendly Campaign Poster Award Ceremony

Gifu University hosted "Let's think about SDGs - Eco-Friendly Campaign Poster" competition for the students of Gifu University Faculty of Education Affiliated Compulsory School System (Elementary-Junior High).

Gifu University and Juroku Bank, Ltd. concluded "Memorandum of Understanding on Partnership for Environment Conservation between Gifu University and Juroku Bank, Ltd." As part of partnership activities and to raise people's awareness of environmental issues such as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), energy conservation, environment beautification and waste reduction campaigns, Gifu University seeks applications for "Eco-Friendly Campaign Poster" competition from the students. In the 11th competition, a record high of 104 posters were submitted. Of them, three golds, four special awards, one Juroku Financial Group Award, and one Juroku Bank Award were announced at the awarding ceremony held at the Office of the President on Thursday, December 9, 2021.

The President of Gifu University Hisataka Moriwaki handed out the award certificates to individual winners. They were also presented small gifts from Mr. Kouichi Tokoro, Managing Executive Officer, Juroku Bank. The president praised their efforts and said, "Please spread your conservation efforts to your juniors and people around you." Mr. Tokoro followed him and said, "Let's work together to inspire people to acknowledge the importance of preserving nature." Lastly, Mr. Eiichi Koga, Principal of Gifu University Faculty of Education Affiliated Compulsory School System (Elementary-Junior High) commented, "Our students are studying about SDGs and protection of environment at "How to live" classes. I hope the latest awarding give our students another momentum to attain SDGs in the future."

On behalf of the winners, Mr. Kohei Sasagawa (8th grade student) expressed his strong wishes to save as many lives as possible which may be lost due to global warming. His poster "Future of our planet depends on you" won gold.

The awarded posters were on display at the University Library, and were viewed by many from on and off campus. They were also on display at Juroku Bank Nagoya Branch from Tuesday, December 14 to Thursday, December 30, 2021, and are on display at Juroku Bank Kano Branch from Friday, January 7 to Thursday, January 20, 2022, and at Juroku Bank Ginan Branch from Friday, January 21 to Thursday, February 3, 2022.

We hope that this event will give people a chance to think about the environment, and is further expanded into various forms eco-friendly activities.
