iGEM Gifu wins Gold Medal at 2021 iGEM Giant Jamboree
Gifu University student team, "iGEM Gifu" won a gold medal at "2021 iGEM Giant Jamboree" (online) held on Thursday, November 4 - Sunday, November 14, 2021. iGEM Giant Jamboree is an international student competition dedicated to the advancement of synthetic biology.
iGEM Gifu members made a presentation titled, ""Trans-cleavage Endonuclease Specific Fatigue Quantification System (TESTIFY)." Gold medal goes to a team which successfully accomplishes more than 11 tasks out of 15. iGEM Gifu cleared this condition and was awarded long-awaited Gold Medal since the founding of iGEM Gifu in 2014.
In "Wiki" category at which participants report their research results, iGEM Gifu was also nominated to be the "Best Wiki." Only 10 teams were selected as the "Best Wiki" out of 356 teams.
On Thursday, November 18, iGEM Gifu members visited the Office of the President and reported their winning to President Hisataka Moriwaki. After listening to the details of their presentation, President Moriwaki expressed his strong hopes for their continued research and participation in 2022 iGEM Giant Jamboree and beyond.
