Three Gifu University professors were chosen to receive a research fund from Endo Saijiro Memorial Foundation for Science and Technology. The fund are provided for researchers/organizations/business promotion bodies engaging in academic, educational and experimental research for the promotion of science and technology. It is hoped that the fund can help them contribute to the advancement of science and technology and strong growth of local industries.

On Friday, November 12, 2021, an awarding ceremony was held at the hotel in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture. It was attended by Vice President Hisako Endo of Endo Saijiro Memorial Foundation for Science and Technology. The following are the words of encouragement to each recipient from Ms. Endo; "Promotion of science and technology is vital to a robust, sustainable growth of this country. I wish everyone's great success in their research in spite of very difficult situations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic."

・ Assistant Professor Sai Masahiro, Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science, Faculty of Engineering Research Theme: Development of an efficient catalytic system for transformations of allylic alcohols to ketones
