On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, Aigi Career Development Consortium for International Students Gifu Region Workshop 2021 was held on campus. It is the 4th workshop jointly hosted by four member organizations of the Consortium (Gifu University, Gifu Prefecture, Gifu Employers' Association, and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Gifu) since 2017.

The workshop had two sessions. In the first session, Ms. Nguyen Thi Diep of Yabashi Holdings Co., Ltd. spoke about how to develop glocal (global + local) human resources, and it was followed by a video message from Mr. Shen Xin. He is a Gifu University graduate who successfully found employment in Pacific Industrial Co., Ltd. In his message, he introduced his job-hunting experiences in Japan from the perspectives of international student.

In the second session, participating international students made questions to company representatives in attendance, and actively communicated with each other. International students have studied well about companies' business philosophies and operations before the workshop, thus their questions were very specific and to the point. They asked questions such as status of overseas business operations, in-house educational programs, and record of hiring international personnel, etc.

Due to the pandemic, Aigi Career Development Consortium for International Students Gifu Region Workshop 2021was scaled down with the limited number of participants and every infection prevention measure was taken by the participants. Despite such difficult situations, many positive comments were given from the students. They are; "In-person meeting enabled me to directly exchange opinions with multiple company representatives." "I become more interested in the companies participating in the workshop," and "The workshop is very informative in my job-hunting."

Comments were also given from company representatives: "I was impressed with students' sincere attitudes trying to speak to us," and "I hope we could have more time to talk with the students next time."

Aigi Career Development Consortium for International Students Gifu Region Workshop 2021 offered both students and company representatives an invaluable opportunity for in-person communications and opinion exchange.
