First-year students of Medical Course, School of Medicine, Gifu University attend "Hands-on Medical Practice (mandatory subject)" in their first semester. They go to medical, educational, public health and welfare facilities in regions, and engage in practical training every year.

On Thursday, June 17, 2021, as part of this "Hands-on Medical Practice," the school conducted an online practical training class called, "Virtual Tour of University Hospital" which connected students in a classroom and the staff of the University Hospital (emergency ward) real time, giving the students a chance to get a glimpse of the interior of the hospital. Smartphones equipped with "Gimbal Stabilizer" made it possible to offer the students clear and smooth images during the class. The main purpose of this class is to educate students to figure out the most effective way of communications with the medical staff at the hospital.
