Inspection Results for Soil Contamination on Yanagido Campus, Gifu University

 The drainage system construction (for restoration of lifeline) is currently underway at Yanagido Campus, Gifu University. After inspections for possible soil contamination based on "Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act," we have found that some substances found on the construction site have been exceeding the allowable limits. We submitted a report on this outcome to Gifu City as required under the Act. The following are the inspection results:

1. Soil contamination inspection results

 After the inspection, it was learned that arsenic and its compound which are exceeding the allowable limits, were detected in three locations. Click for the details.(PDF:255KB)

2. Groundwater

 Water quality inspection was conducted for groundwater in the area covered by soil inspection, and the results showed that groundwater in the area is meeting the official water quality standards.

3. Future responses

 No groundwater contamination has been confirmed today. We continue to deal with soil transaction strictly in accordance with the Act.
