On August 6, 2020, Gifu University School of Medicine Mt. Okuhotaka Summer Clinic Committee ("Committee") donated 450 face masks, 36 bottles of alcohol hand sanitizers and other medical supplies to Mt. Hotaka Lodge, Gifu Prefecture.

The School of Medicine opens Mt. Okuhotaka Clinic every summer to deal with stranded/injured mountaineers and provide medical treatment for the sick. However, opening of the clinic was canceled this year due to COVID-19 pandemic. After much discussion by the Committee members, they decided to donate medical supplies to the lodge this summer.

The supplies were delivered by helicopter on August 11, 2020.
