Intelligent Production Technology Research & Development Center for Aerospace Recurrent Education Kickoff Seminar

The Intelligent Production Technology Research & Development Center for Aerospace, Gifu University held "Intelligent Production Technology Research & Development Center for Aerospace Recurrent Education Kickoff Seminar" at the Growing Industries Human Resources Development Center ("Technoplaza": Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture) on February 17, 2020.

Dr. Akihito Sakai, Associate Officer, Deputy General Manager, Manufacturing Division Aerospace Systems Company, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. was invited as a lecturer and spoke about the future of aerospace industry in Japan. Under the title, "Initiatives for the future of aerospace industry and partnership with local businesses: significance of a "recurrent education" introduced at the Intelligent Production Technology Research & Development Center for Aerospace." His speech was followed by the center representatives' introduction of R&D projects, human resources development programs, etc., of the center.

The seminar was attended by 76 people from 28 organizations, most of whom are managers in the manufacturing sector of aerospace businesses. Through the seminar, the participants were given an opportunity to contemplate the current status of aerospace industry and its future goals to establish new production systems, necessity to develop next-generation production technologies, and cultivate human resources capable of architecting the new production systems.

*This seminar was held as part of "human resources development and R&D for production technologies toward a formation of Japan's best aerospace business cluster" jointly funded by the Cabinet Office and Gifu Prefectural Government.
