Delegation from Thừa Thiên-Huế Province and Hue University, Vietnam, paid a courtesy call on President Hisataka Moriwaki on November 25, 2019. Gifu University and Hue University signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement on Exchange in November 2018.

The following were the names and affiliations of five delegates;

- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Tuan, Dean, School of Hospitality and Tourism, Hue University

- Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc from Thừa Thiên-Huế Department of Tourism

- Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Hai Trung, Vice Director, Hue Monuments Conservation Centre

- Ms. Ton Nu Ngoc Y Nhi, International Cooperation Division, Department of Foreign Affairs of Thừa Thiên-Huế Province, and

- Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang from Thừa Thiên-Huế Provincial Government

In the meeting with the President, first, Dr. Tran Huu Tuan introduced the School of Hospitality and Tourism to the President. Active discussions regarding collaboration in human resource development, scholarship and internship programs continued.

"Many students and researchers from Vietnam are studying agriculture or engineering at Gifu University, and our partnership could be further expanded with a special emphasis on these two academic fields," said President Moriwaki. At the end of the meeting, they confirmed the importance of continuation of strong partnership between the two universities.
