Mr. Ryoichi Akamatsu came first at Japan Intercollegiate Track & Field Games

Mr. Ryoichi Akamatsu (2nd year student, Subject-Integrated Education, the Graduate School of Education) won first place at a male high-jump category in the 88th Emperor's Cup for Japan Student Athletics Interscholastic Championships ("Japan Intercollegiate Track & Field Games") held in the Nagaragawa Stadium, the Gifu Memorial Center on September 15, 2019 (record: 2m24cm). This is his third victory in the Japan Intercollegiate Track & Field Games.

On September 20, Mr. Akamatsu and his supervisor, Assistant Professor Ryohei Hayashi (advisor to the university's Track & Field club) paid a courtesy call on President Hisataka Moriwaki and reported his victory by showing the president a video clip of the competition. "I believe I was in top form because I constantly jumped over 2m20cm. I am confident of my victory at the next national athletic meet," said Akamatsu. President said that he was overwhelmed with Akamatsu's third victory and expects him to do his best in the national athletic meet.

Akamatsu will be participating in "the 74th National Sports Festival" in Ibaraki Prefecture from September 28 to October 8, 2019. Please join us to wish him the best!
