As part of the Gifu University 70th Anniversary Event, the "Movies Filmed in Gifu" was shown at the Royal Theater (Hinode Town, Gifu City) on June 8 to 9, 2019.

Many university staff enjoyed observing props, photo panels, etc. of the movie "General Rouge no Gaisen (The Triumphant Return of General Rouge)" (released in 2009), which were exhibited on the theater. They were fondly recalling the days of filming on campus.

On June 8, President Hisataka Moriwaki, who is well-known for his extensive knowledge of movies, and Mr. Takahiko Isogai, general manager of the theater, attended a special talk session. They spoke about their strong passion for movies, significance of handing down culture to the next generation. Their casual, friendly talks brought a lot of excitement to the audience.

For these two days, approximately 530 people received a special pamphlet created for this anniversary event. Many of them were filled with emotions and memories of Gifu University and other places where the movies were filmed. They also shared a deep thought about movie culture in Japan.
