Spring Program AY2018 Starts
Gifu University Head Office for Glocalization (GHOGL) launched the new Spring Program 2018, and sent five Gifu University students to Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG, India) from March 9 to 22, 2019.
The major purpose of this program is to make Joint Degree programs (JD: a single degree certificate is awarded by two or more partner universities to a student who has completed the program implemented by the partner universities) known to the people at IITG and Gifu University students prior to the programs' official start in April 2019.
Five undergraduate students at the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences are already at IITG taking part in the spring program. One of their missions is to compile a booklet for Gifu University students wishing to study at IITG in the near future. It will be filled with information that the students may obtain through their communications with IITG students and their studies of design thinking. During their stay, the students will be invited to observe laboratories, attend lectures and tour in and around the campus. Their day-to-day life experiences in India are also included in the booklet with support from IITG students.
For two weeks, five students will join a wide range of activities by immersing themselves in a totally new environment at IITG. We hope that they can deepen their understanding about the campus life in India, and develop their versatility in dealing with any types of situations in the future.
*Gifu University was given permissions from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan for the establishment of the International Joint Department of Food and Science and Technology with the IITG (master's and PhD) in June, 2018. The permissions of the International Joint Department of Integrated Mechanical Engineering with the IITG (PhD) and the International Joint Department of Materials Science and Engineering with UKM (PhD) were also given to the university in November, 2018.
