Professor Sanjib Kumar Panda from Assam University, India paid a courtesy call on President Hisataka Moriwaki on October 17, 2018. The meeting was attended by Dr. Fumiaki Suzuki, Executive Director for International Affairs and Public Relations, Vice President, Professor Masateru Senge, Dean of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science (UGSAS), Professor Hiroyuki Koyama of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences and Ms. Haruko Nonomura, Director for International Affairs and Planning, Gifu University Head Office for Glocalization (GHOGL).

Professor Panda visited Gifu University to attend the 6th UGSAS-GU Roundtable & Symposium 2018 held from October 16-18, 2018. In addition to his attendance, he met the president to take the president-signed Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement on Student and Faculty Exchanges between Gifu University and Assam University back to India for countersigning.

President Moriwaki gave his signatures to the MoU and the Agreement, and entrusted them to Professor Panda in the hope of a strong partnership between researchers and students at both institutions particularly in the field of agriculture.
