The 5th Gifu University Alumni Association Meeting

Gifu University held the 5th Alumni Association Meeting at Gifu University Satellite Campus (Yoshinomachi, Gifu City) on September 8, 2018. This meeting was created with the following objectives:

- To provide the latest information on the university for the members of faculty alumni associations

- To exchange opinions concerning the current situations of faculty alumni associations, and

- By doing the two above, the participants deepen their mutual understanding, strengthen ties between the university and the association as well as among faculty alumni associations.

At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Yoshida, Chair of the Gifu University Alumni Association and President Hisataka Moriwaki gave opening speeches. Later, Dr. Fumiaki Suzuki, Executive Director for International Affairs and Public Relations, Vice President spoke about ongoing programs/projects and trends of Gifu University for the past six months.

Next, Professor Sakae Mitsui of the Faculty of Regional Studies made a presentation, titled "Making nature conservation and tourism promotion compatible with each other: pilot project at Mt. Norikura." His speech was followed by reports, requests made by faculty alumni members and opinion exchange.

Lastly, Mr. Seiki Ofuji, Executive Director for General Affairs and Finance, Vice President introduced the Gifu University 70th Anniversary Project to the participants.

After the meeting, an informal gathering was held at Juroku Plaza (Gifu City) and many of the participants enjoyed lively conversations for some time.
