Opening of ISO 14001 Internal Environmental Auditor Training Course

Gifu University opened the ISO 14001 Internal Environmental Auditor Training Course for the university staff and student volunteers on August 7 - 8, 2018.

All facilities of Gifu University excluding the University Hospital have already obtained ISO 14001:2015 Certification (the international standard for environmental management systems), and the university staff and student volunteers carry out ISO 14001 internal environmental auditing every year.

The main thrust of this course is to help the participants become qualified to conduct the internal auditing. Mr. Yuji Motohiro from Technofer Ltd. was invited as a guest speaker, and he spoke about some important auditing points for the participants. The staff and students also had a chance to take part in other programs such as group working and role-playing. They all learned a lot from this two-day training course.

Those who have completed the course conduct campus auditing on September 3 - 5, 2018.

Number of Participants

- 32 (in 2018: 16 staff and 16 students)

- 23 (in 2017: 10 staff and 13 students)

*In the internal auditing, the auditors check whether the university's environmental management system is being operated in compliance with ISO 14001 standard or not.
