Gifu University Student Report Competition Awarding Ceremony AY 2017
Gifu University Student Report Competition Awarding Ceremony AY 2017 was held at the Academic Core, Gifu University on April 25, 2018.
This awarding ceremony is held every year with the following purposes and directions: 1) encourage students' voluntary studying by awarding reports of excellence and their writers, 2) offer model reports to students for their future studies by making quality reports public.
While President Hisataka Moriwaki was observing the ceremony, Professor Toshihiro Unno, Head of Active-Learning Support Division, Organization for Promotion of Higher Education and Student Support handed commendation certificates and extra prizes to the three winners of the competition. They are:
- Highest Award:
Mr. Kouki Shimoda, 4th year student of the Faculty of Engineering, "Mathematical Theory and Architecture for Poker-Style Tournament Game"
- Award for Excellence:
Miss Mako Nakamura, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Regional Studies, "Adaptation Research for Night on the Galactic Railroad"
- Honorable Award:
Miss Haruka Anada, 2nd year student of the Regional Studies, "Are Islamists Terrorists? Interpretations of Muslim in the West"
On behalf of the winners, Miss Anada made the following statement; "I have learned how to write a report including quotation from the reference materials through my process of researching and compiling."
"Writing is very important regardless of languages we use. I hope that everyone continues to work hard to produce excellent reports. Unfortunately, fewer people enjoy reading books these days, but reading a lot of books is equally important for us to cultivate a creative mind which will be conducive to good reporting."
The reports awarded at the ceremony will be carried at the "Annual Report on Gifu University Organization for Promotion of Higher Education and Student Support Vol.4."
We are very looking forward to Gifu University students' application for Gifu University Student Report Competition Awarding Ceremony for AY 2018.
