"The 9^th Joint Symposium of Veterinary Research among Universities of Veterinary Medicine in East Asia" was held at Seoul National University, South Korea on February 23, 2018. The following are the universities attended the symposium: Gifu University United Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences (UGSVS, consisting of Gifu University, Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Iwate University, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and National Institute of Infectious Diseases), the United Graduate School of Veterinary Science, Yamaguchi University (consisting of Tottori University, Yamaguchi University and Kagoshima University) and the University of Tokyo.

At the symposium, Keynote Lecture (research presentations by teaching staff) and Session (oral presentations and poster presentations by students) were held where many active information sharing and opinion exchanges took place.

Associate Professor Yasuhiro Takashima of UGSVS delivered a speech at the Keynote Lecture, which was followed by UGSVS seven students' oral presentations and eight students' poster presentations. Mr. Rajabi Toustani Reza, Miss Kaoru Hatate and Mr. Takashi Tanaka from UGSVS were presented the Award of Excellence.

The symposium has provided a significant opportunity for young researchers to mingle with scholars and experts in the field of veterinary in Asia Region.
