The 10^th Press Conference by President for AY 2017 was held on February 28, 2018.

At this conference, the signing ceremony was conducted between Gifu University and MINISTOP Co., Ltd. for Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement in times of Emergencies.

The agreement aims to secure safety of the university staff and local residents taking shelter at Gifu University in case of major natural disasters in close cooperation with MINISTOP convenience store on campus. This is the first mutual cooperation agreement against emergencies for the company to conclude with educational institutions such as universities in Japan.

Gifu University also signed a similar agreement with Gifu University Consumers' Cooperative Society (CO-OP) at the same conference.

"It is of significant meaning for Gifu University to conclude the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement in times of Emergencies with MINISTOP, and Gifu University is expected to become an integrated disaster prevention core base in the near future," said President Hisataka Moriwaki. A representative of MINISTOP made the following statement; "Our company is pursuing the same goal of securing people's safety in case of emergencies, and the signing of the agreement of this time will enable us to offer most needed support to local residents if major disasters hit. We would like to continue to reinforce our strong relationship with Gifu University in the years to come."
