Exchange Students pay courtesy call on President

Three exchange students of the Faculty of Regional Studies paid a courtesy call on President Hisataka Moriwaki on February 7, 2018. They were Ms. Xu Liying, Ms. Zheng Jing Jing and Ms. Ma Xueting from China. The meeting was joined by Dr. Fumiaki Suzuki, Executive Director for International Affairs and Public Relations, Mr. Masaki Yokoyama, Executive Director for General Affairs and Finance, and Ms. Haruko Nonomura, Director for International Affairs and Planning.

Three students were enrolled in the Faculty of Regional Studies as research students after graduating from their respective universities in China. Before they came to Japan, they had a chance to talk with Dr. Yu Ping, Director of Gifu University Shanghai Office, who introduced Gifu University to them. After their meeting with Dr. Yu Ping, they decided to come to Gifu University.

In the meeting with the President, the students discussed their research activities and dreams in the future. When President asked, "What is your dream in the future?" Ms. Zheng Jing Jing replied, "I would like to have Ph.D. to become a professor at a university." "We are not quite sure about our future professions, but we are interested in publishing business." said Ms. Xu Liying and Ms. Ma Xueting. At the end of the meeting, the President gave them a word of encouragement wishing for a fulfilling life at Gifu University and in Japan.

It is strongly hoped that all international students and researchers studying at the university will enjoy a full campus life and play a leading role in their respective fields of studies in the near future.
