Announcement Opening or cancellation of classes if a typhoon warning is publicly issued and traffic services are suspended

Typhoon No. 21 for this season is approaching Japan.
Please check whether classes are offered or cancelled in case a typhoon warning is issued and traffic services are suspended.

1. If a "special warning"1) or a "typhoon warning" is issued across Gifu City, classes or examinations are cancelled in accordance with the time of issuance:
a. All morning classes are cancelled if a "special warning" or a "typhoon warning" is issued as of 6:30 a.m.
b. All classes for a whole day are cancelled if a "special warning" or a "typhoon warning" is issued as of 11:00 a.m.

2. If a "special warning" or a "typhoon warning" is issued across Gifu City before classes begin, or the weather is predicted to deteriorate, decisions about classes are made by Executive Director for Academic and Affiliated School Affairs.

3. If traffic services are suspended due to natural disasters or going on strike:
If train services of both the Tokaido Line (Nagoya-Ogaki Station) and the Meitetsu Line (Nagoya-Gifu Station) are suspended, or bus services from Gifu Station to Gifu University are suspended due to natural disasters or going on strike, opening or cancellation of classes are determined in accordance with 1 and 2 above.

4. If the situations do not fall into any of the above, President and Executive Director for Academic and Affiliated School Affairs hold consultations and notify the decision to each faculty.

5. Class cancellation by the causes from 1 to 3 above will be posted at Gifu University website, but posting of information could be delayed in case of 1.a., (as of 6:30 a.m.). Please check the latest weather information on TV, radio and the internet.

Special warning 1) : warning against heavy rains, strong winds, blizzards and snowstorms, etc. beyond the level of ordinary warning
