Gifu University organized the 13^th Local Business Inspection Tour on July 3, 2017. This inspection tour started in 2007 and its objectives are to help Gifu University board members properly assess the current status of local industries, deepen their understanding about the regional economies and contribute to society.

During the 13^th Local Business Inspection Tour, the board members visited Nihon Taisanbin Glass Bottle MFG. CO. Ltd and Pacific Industrial Co. Ltd Higashi Ogaki Factory both of which are located in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture. The members gave the company staff an overview of Gifu University, and later they exchanged opinions and inspected the company facilities.

At Nihon Taisanbin Glass Bottle MFG. CO. Ltd, the members observed the glass bottle assembly line from melting to molding. Afterward, they shared opinions about research and development of glass production using information technology.

At Pacific Industrial Co. Ltd Higashi Ogaki Factory (automobile part manufacturing company), they were briefed from the staff about the pioneering production line layout for optimum allocation of human resources and the state-of-the-art "hot stamping" technology.

Both companies were established in 1930 and have been greatly contributing to manufacturing industries and businesses in this region for years. Both are placing a high hope on Gifu University for research and development activities and recruiting of, talented personnel for their further growth. Gifu University continues to work hard for prosperity of regional businesses by way of industry-academia collaboration and human resource development.
