The Health Administration Center holds The 1st Consultant Workshop for University Students

On June 13, 2016, the Health Administration Center held The 1st Consultant Workshop for University Students in 2016 at a meeting room of the Faculty of Engineering. Associate Professor Akihiro Nishio (psychiatrist, school physician) and Assistant Professor Ryo Horita (clinical psychotherapist) of the Health Administration Center gave their lectures and discussed how to provide proper consultation services for the university students.

The Workshop opened for the whole Gifu University administrative and teaching staff and a total of 65 people joined including the staff of Student Consultation Room, "campus life helpers," harassment consultants, "mentors" of the Gender Equality Promotion Office.

Under the title, "Why university students become unable to come to a lab?" Associate Professor Nishio spoke about appropriate treatment for the students who stopped coming to the university due to their mental problems, etc. by quoting some actual cases.

Assistant Professor Horita explained the definition and the ideals of consultation for students, consultation process and points of attention under the title, "Instruction Manual for University Staff Consultation Services." He said that the most important point is to pay closer attentions to the latest trends of the university students, and keywords to bear in mind is "become connected, bring them together and networking."

In the Workshop, the participants studied how to deal with difficulties that the university students are going through from the right perspectives. They were given an invaluable opportunity to know more about consultation services for the university students.
