On December 19, 2015, the Gifu University Head Office for Glocalization (GHOGL) held a Meeting between International Students, Researchers and Board Members hosted by the President at the University's Dining Hall as a part of International Month in Fall 2015 events.
The first Meeting was held last year in hopes of promoting mutual friendship between board members including the President, and international students, researchers and their families. The second such meeting was held and was attended by as many as 120 people this year.

Dr. Toyohide Takeuchi, Vice Director of GHOGL served as a moderator of the Meeting and after an opening speech by President Hisataka Moriwaki, each board member made a self-introduction. Next, Dr. Fumiaki Suzuki, Executive Director for International Affairs and Public Relations proposed a toast.
All the participants were enjoying meals and lively talks and deepened their friendship.

As one of the new features of this year's Meeting, international students gave music and dancing performances to the audience: a group of Indonesian students who dressed up in colorful traditional costume, sang and danced in perfect harmony, which mesmerized the whole audience. Students from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati who are studying at Gifu University as students of a Winter School program, also sang songs while playing the guitar.

There were many positive feedbacks in the questionnaire papers filled out by the participants; "The Meeting was really a wonderful opportunity for us to meet and talk directly with the President and other board members." "It was a lot of fun to exchange with people from different countries. I hope that there will be more such occasions in the future."
All the participants enjoyed the Meeting to their fullest. They not only mingled with other participants but built a new friendship and had a chance to embrace cultures of different countries in the world.
