Dr. Boo H. Kwa, Associate Dean for International Programs, Professor of Global Health, College of Public Health, University of South Florida gave a special lecture at Gifu University on April 6th, 2015

Dr. Boo H. Kwa of College of Public Health, University of South Florida (USF) visited Gifu University on Monday, April 6th, and gave a special lecture entitled, "Global Health: International Education to Prepare Public Health Professionals for a Globalized Marketplace in the 21st Century." Dr. Kwa is an expert in parasitic disease research in global health field.
USF dispatches and accepts students across the globe with the aim of training students to be public health professionals under the International Programs, USF. In his lecture, Dr. Kwa explained about the international education program by showing the examples of students' activities in some developing countries.
Before the lecture, Dr. Kwa made a courtesy visit to the President's office and held a talk with President Hisataka Moriwaki.
In the meeting, Dr. Kwa spoke about the current situations of education and research activities in the United States, special features of USF, international student enrolment situations, and joint research/education activities with overseas partner organizations. As the exchanges between USF and Gifu University have long been flourishing, Dr. Kwa asked about the possibility of Gifu University's acceptance of students and researchers from USF within the framework of the international education program. At the end of the meeting, both the Gifu University participants and Dr. Kwa agreed to accelerate negotiations for conclusion of a faculty-level agreement in the future.
