Renewal of Agreement with Korea University

 Gifu University and Korea University, Republic of Korea concluded the Agreement for Cooperation on January 15th, 2010. The two universities renewed the agreement to strengthen mutual cooperation in the fields of research and education on January 7th, 2015.
 On January 7th and 8th, 2015, Professor Hiroyuki Muraoka with the River Basin Research Center, Gifu University visited Korea University and met with Professor Sung Jin Kang, Vice President for International Affairs of Korea University and attended the renewal ceremony. Dr. Noh Nam Jin graduated from Korea University, and is now a postdoctoral fellowship for overseas researcher of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), and currently with the River Basin Research Center, Gifu University, and Professor Son Yowhan as well as Mr. D'Arcy Drachenberg and Ms. Iris Jiyun Lee from the Office of International Affairs of Korea University were also present at the ceremony. They exchanged opinions about forest carbon cycle research, educational exchange programs and the future exchange among students and researchers between the two universities.
 After the meeting, a special seminar was held at the Ecosystem Ecology Laboratory of Professor Son Yowhan where Professor Muraoka and Dr. Noh gave lectures concerning the ongoing research activities at the Takayama Field Station of the River Basin Research Center. The seminar attracted the interest of many graduate students resulting in a lively opinion exchanges among the students.
