Luncheon Party with Board Members of Gifu University (2014 Summer School Program)

As part of our summer school program, International Student Center hosted a luncheon party at the Exchange Lounge in International Student Center building on Thursday, June 26. Gifu University board members and summer school students were present at the party.
This luncheon party was held responding to the changes of Gifu University board members in this April. It was a great opportunity for the board members to have deep understanding about summer school, and also for summer school students to have a conversation with the board members whom students usually don't have a chance to talk to.
Nearly 40 people including Gifu University President Hisataka Moriwaki, Executive Directors (Dr. Masata Sugito, Dr. Satoshi Ema, Dr. Hideto Fukushi, Dr. Fumiaki Suzuki, Mr. Masaki Yokoyama), Auditors (Mr. Takaharu Yoshida, Mr. Hideharu Yamada), and Vice-President Masako Hayashi, 16 students from Lund University (Sweden), 4 students from Mokpo National University (South Korea), and International Student Center staff members attended the party.
The luncheon party began with a brief overview of Gifu University summer school program given by Associate Professor Tsuchiya, the summer school coordinator. Following the introduction of board members, Dr. Hisataka Moriwaki, President of Gifu University, delivered a speech.
A little while later, students split into some groups, and at each table they had a pleasant conversation with the board members over lunch. Students looked a little nervous at first but it turned out to be a relaxed mood and they enjoyed a conversation also in Japanese after the board members spoke to students in a friendly manner.
At the end of the party, Mr. Simon Wiklund from Lund University and Ms. Seo Eunae from Mokpo National University made a speech in Japanese, and we wrapped up the party which was a great success.
