4-week Course of Summer School 2014 has started
Gifu University Summer School Program (8-week course) which started on June 4 has about half way done, and the 4-week course of summer school started on Wednesday, June 25. 21 students now participate in our summer school program including 4 newly-joined students from Mokpo National University (South Korea).
The opening ceremony and guidance session for the 4-week course were held at Multipurpose Hall, International Student Center on Wednesday afternoon, June 25.
At the opening ceremony, following the introduction of faculty and staff members, Dr. Toyohide Takeuchi, Director of International Student Center, gave a welcome speech saying that "Please look after your health and enjoy summer in Japan as much as possible." Participating students introduced themselves in Japanese, and they attended guidance session and went on a campus tour afterward. The 4-week course students join the Japanese language class and Japanese culture experience program from the following day, and they study with 8-weeks course students from Lund University (Sweden).
Participating students just arrived in Gifu the day before the 4-week course started, but all students looked great and said they are looking forward to the summer school program and life in Japan.
