Early Voting Station is set up within Gifu University

On July 1, 2016, an Early Voting Station for the 24th Upper House Election was set up at the Meeting Room No.6 of the University Hall. The 24th Upper House Election is the first national election after the voting age was officially lowered to 18 years and older, and people today are paying more attention to young people's participation in the election and their growing interest in the Japanese politics.

At the request of the Gifu City Secretariat of the Board of Election, an Early Voting Station was set up at the University to offer the students, teaching and administrative staff an opportunity to take part in political affairs and to increase their interest in politics.

On July 1, a total of 246 people came to the Station for votes. Of them, 66 were the University students.

The 24th Upper House Election is held on July 10. It is expected that the Gifu University students become more proactive in thinking about politics and go to the polls.
