On January 18, 2015, Mr. Katsuhiko Fujisawa, a teacher of the Education Faculty-Affiliated Junior High School, received an award as an outstanding teacher for FY2015 from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

The MEXT Outstanding Teacher Award began from FY2006 with the purpose of commending and publicizing in-service teachers at public and private schools who achieved exceptional performances in teaching in school education, as well as promoting the motivation of teachers in Japan and contributing to the improvement of their teaching quality.
